You know that feeling when you are so cold, all you can think about is a hot shower? Something about immersing yourself in that warm water and steam not only softens goosebumps and calms tense muscles, but even makes internal organs feel relaxed, content, and properly functioning.
That’s how I feel about good friends. Sometimes I just long to surround myself in their hope, encouragement, and faith. I know that when my skin absorbs their kindness, when I breathe in their joy, these things will infiltrate the rest of my being, and enliven a tired frame. My frigid bones thaw, my shivering body relaxes, and my heart starts beating again.
